Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Rendershot API (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including free and paid plan users.
2. Service Description
Rendershot provides a REST API that converts URLs and HTML into screenshots (PNG, JPEG) and PDF documents via a cloud-based headless browser. The Service is provided "as-is" and is intended for developer use.
3. Account Registration & API Keys
You must provide a valid email address to register. You are responsible for keeping your API keys confidential. Do not share API keys publicly or commit them to source control. Rendershot is not liable for charges or misuse resulting from unauthorized use of your API keys.
You must verify your email address before creating API keys.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Render illegal, harmful, or abusive content
- Infringe on intellectual property rights of third parties
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, billing, or security controls
- Resell or sublicense the Service without prior written consent
- Conduct denial-of-service attacks or abuse the infrastructure
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice.
5. Credits & Billing
Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance. One credit is consumed per successful render (screenshot or PDF). Credits are reset at the start of each billing period (every 30 days from your subscription start date). Unused credits do not carry over to the next period.
If you exhaust your credits before the period ends, additional renders will be rejected with a 402 error. You may upgrade your plan at any time to receive more credits.
6. Refund Policy
All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds for consumed credits or partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@rendershot.io within 14 days of the charge and we will review your case.
If Rendershot is unable to provide the Service due to a technical failure on our end, we may issue credit at our discretion.
7. Intellectual Property
Rendershot retains ownership of the Service, its code, branding, and infrastructure. You retain ownership of all content you submit for rendering. We do not store rendered output beyond 24 hours after job completion.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rendershot shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or service interruptions.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Rendershot in the 3 months preceding the claim.
9. Service Availability
We aim to provide reliable uptime but do not guarantee any specific SLA. We may perform maintenance, apply updates, or suspend the Service temporarily. We will endeavour to provide advance notice for planned downtime.
10. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time by contacting support@rendershot.io. We reserve the right to terminate accounts for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your API keys are immediately revoked and any stored render results are deleted.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Tel Aviv, Israel.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email or via a banner in the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
